The Freescale Marathon is a USATF-certified and sanctioned, point-to-point
course that begins in far north Austin at the Freescale Semiconductor plant, continues south through the
University of Texas, downtown, around the state capitol and finishes on Auditorium Shores right next
to the Colorado River, aka Town Lake.

Pacing
The course will close on a gradual schedule based on a 8:00:00 finish
time (approx. 19 minute/mile pace) according to the following chart. Closure means that all course support (traffic barricades, police protection,
water/aid stations) will be pulled from the mileage interval at the time
listed. The clock will continue to run for a total of eight (8) hours. The
finish line area officially closes at 3pm.

Course Amenities
On-course amenities are some of the best in the country and include:
- Highly visible mile markers.
- Portapotties at every mile.
- 90% complete road closure.
- Police protection at major intersections.
- Course marshals.
- Police escorts for leaders.
- Bicycle escorts for wheelchair participants.
- Clothing drop-off at start line.
- Medical aid at start line, finish line and every mile along the course.
- The start line area has water and porta-potties.
- The finish line area has water, clothing pick-up, shuttle service, timing
chip return, porta-potties, runner refreshment area and entertainment.
Please note, there is no relay event this year.

The half marathon shares the same course as the marathon. It finishes at Northcross Mall, 2525 West Anderson Lane.

Stop by the Oroweat Health & Fitness Expo to visit the nearly 90 vendors that will be exhibiting. We will also have an exciting line-up of expert speakers. Check back periodically for updates.
Packets will be available for pick-up at the Expo at Palmer Events Center (900 Barton Springs Road) on Friday, February 17, 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 18, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You will need a photo ID for chip and bib pick-up. ALL PACKETS MUST BE PICKED UP AT THE EXPO. If you can’t make it to the Expo by Saturday at 6:00 p.m., it’s your responsibility to make arrangements for someone else to pick up your packet. Packets will not be mailed.
Expo registration – registration will be available at the Expo during Expo hours. Cost is $70 for the Half Marathon and $120 for the Full Marathon.
Directions to Palmer Events Center from IH35: Take the Riverside Drive exit. Head west for one mile. When you get to Barton Springs Road, make a left. Palmer will be on your right.
Directions to Palmer Events Center from MoPac (Loop 1): Exit at 1st Street and head east for almost a mile. At South 1st, make a right and cross the
bridge. Go to Barton Springs Road and make a right. Palmer will be on your right.

The Pasta & Pep dinner will be at the marathon's host hotel, the Hyatt Regency.
The dinner is limited to the first 500 people, so get your tickets while you still can! Tickets will be for sale at the expo and can also be purchased when you register online for the race.
Prices are $18 for anyone 13 and above; $8 for kids 7 - 12 and free for anyone under 7.
Jeff Galloway is the keynote speaker.
Austin Marathon sponsors and veterans will be honored.
