What is the date of the 2006 Freescale Marathon and Half Marathon? |

Sunday, February 19. |

What time will the races start? |
| A: |
Both the full and half marathons start at the same time: 6:55 a.m. for wheelchairs and 7:00 a.m. for all walkers and runners. |

Will there be race-day shuttle service and is there a charge? |
| A: |
Shuttle buses will be available to take race participants to the start line from the Marathon finish line at Auditorium Shores and from the Half Marathon finish line at Northcross Mall beginning at 5 a.m. and they will run continuously approximately every 15 minutes until 6 a.m.
We strongly encourage participants to catch the shuttle no later than 5:30a.m. We cannot take responsibility for people arriving late to the start line. The race will start promptly at 7:00am..
To ride the shuttle, you must have a wristband. Wristbands can be purchased via on-line registration or at the Expo for $4 each. |

Where are the start and finish lines? |
| A: |
The start line for both the marathon and half marathon is at the Freescale Semiconductor plant at 7700 West Parmer Lane.
The finish line for the half marathon is at Northcross Mall.
The finish line for the marathon is at Auditorium Shores on West Riverside Drive (same location as last year). |

Is the Freescale Marathon a Boston qualifier? |
| A: |
Yes. Times run in 2006 will qualify you for the 2006 Boston Marathon as long as they haven’t reached their cap of 20,000 runners. Visit the Boston Marathon website at www.baa.org for more information. |

Will there be pace groups at the Freescale Marathon? |
| A: |
Yes. Pace groups will be available for all runners on race day. Simply look for the sign at the start line that indicates your goal time. You will also have a chance to hear from the pacers at the Expo. Pacing times will be 3:00, 3:10, 3:15, 3:20, 3:30, 3:35, 3:40, 3:45, 3:50, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45 and 5:00. If I am injured, sick or otherwise not able to participate in the 2006 Freescale Marathon, can I get my entry fee refunded, transferred to another individual or rolled over to 2007? |

Registration is non-refundable.

Can I run both the half marathon and the full marathon? |
| A: |
No. You must be registered for either the full marathon or the half marathon. The half marathon finish line is separate from the marathon finish line and is scored/timed by a separate timing system. |

What are Clydesdale and Filly divisions? |
| A: |
Clydesdale and filly divisions are based on a runner's weight. To be eligible for the clydesdale division, men must weigh 190lbs. or more. To be eligible for the filly division, women must weight 140lbs. or more.
All runners are placed in thedivision at the time of registration. If you would like to be placed in the filly or clydesdale division, you must weigh in at the Expo on race weekend. |

What are special recognition categories? |

The Freescale Marathon is committed to recognizing and rewarding the employees of its sponsor company, Freescale. The Freescale Marathon is also committed to honoring those individuals serving in public service professions (Police, Fire Department, EMTs, Military and Teachers).
Awards for these categories do not remove runners from consideration of age group, clydesdale or filly awards. |

All awards are based on clock (gun) time. |

What is the difference between chip time and clock (gun) time? |
| A: |
Clock time is the time it takes from the official start of the race to when you cross the finish line.
Chip time is the time it takes you to go from the start line to the finish line, regardless of when you cross the start line. |

Where is Packet Pick-up? |
| A: |
Packets will be available for pick-up at the Oroweat Health & Fitness Expo at Palmer Events Center (900 Barton Springs Road) on Friday, February 17, 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 18, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Your photo ID will be necessary for chip and bib pick-up.
All packets must be picked up at the expo. If you can’t make it to the Expo by Saturday at 6:00 p.m., it’s your responsibility to make arrangements for someone else to pick up your packet.
Packets will not be mailed. |

What are the age divisions for awards for the full and half marathon? |

The Freescale Marathon and Half Marathon will present awards to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 19 and under. . |

Where can I park on race day? |
| A: |
There is plenty of parking at the start - 7700 West Parmer Lane.
You can also park at the marathon finish line in the Palmer Events Center parking garage and catch a shuttle to the start. Shuttles will stage on the South 1st Street Bridge.
Parking is also available at Northcross Mall, the half marathon finish line. Shuttles will be available from there as well.
Regardless of where you park, please allow plenty of time as there will be traffic at the start and both finish lines. |

Yes. Every marathon and half marathon finisher will get a beautiful commemorative medal and a finisher’s certificate (mailed after the race). |

What is the weather like in Austin in February? |

Typically, the weather on race morning is in the low 40s. By the afternoon, it's in the low to mid 60s. |

No, there's no limit to the field size for either the marathon or the half marathon. |

The course isfor eight hours. We allow and encourage walkers to participate (that's about 19 minutes a mile). |

Is there somewhere I can drop my clothes on race morning? |

Yes, you can drop off your clothes at the start line at 6:00am in the clear clothing drop off bag that will be provided to you at packet pick-up. (PLEASE DON'T LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CLOTHING DROP-OFF BAGS. THE MARATHON CAN'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS.)
All unclaimed items from the clothing management area will be brought back to the marathon office. Anything not picked up by February 26, 2006, will be donated to a local charity.
Clothing discarded at the start line or along the race route will be collected and donated to a local charity on race day. Do not discard items of value to you on the roadway at the start or along the course. They will not be available for retrieval and will not be returned to you. |

Is course support offered? |

There are 24 fully equipped aid stations on the race route. These aid stations are located at approximately every mile starting at mile 2, up until mile 25 and will provide water and “Mountain Blast” flavored PowerAde®.
There will be a ClifShot® Zone located between 21.5 and 22 miles on the Marathon Route, near or on Congress Avenue.
Medical support and portable toilets will be located at every mile within the proximity of the mile markers. Aid stations will remainand staffed on an eight-hour finishing pace. |
